God will never cancel you out!

You Can't be Cancelled Out!

By: Mary Jean Marquez

This crazy culture, called cancel culture goes against all that is good and right. Do not accept this one sided way of thinking and doing, and do not cower to it. It is a disgusting evil way to exist.

As Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie said, "Culture does not make people. People make culture.", and this cancel culture made by intolerant people, is not acceptable, and must not be tolerated. We live in the most powerful and beautiful country America, how in the world can we live united and at peace, when cancel culture rejects American values?

Bobby Jindal shared "Our culture, language, history, and values are vital to uniting us as a nation.", and  Mahatma Ghandi shared, "A nation's culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people."

We live in such an insane time where certain groups of folks want to cancel out anyone they don't agree with, and cancel out everything they don't like in order to meet their perverse and selfish agendas. To me, this is childish, and wrong in so many levels, and quite honestly, it is cowardly!

The good news is,  God will never cancel His children out!

Let's start off by looking at the meaning of the word Cancel/Cancelled: Dismiss, reject, erase, obliterate, no longer considered or usable, to bring to nothingness-DESTROY, invalidate, deface-trash/vandalize, to remove or delete, abandon, abort-terminate prematurely, call off, drop, rescind-take away, intolerant - a) unwilling to grant equal freedom of expression especially in religious matters. b) unwilling to grant or share social, political, professional rights = Bigoted.

Wowza! this seemingly simple word can be quite dangerous and destructive when used to obliterate people and their freedoms, especially freedom of speech.

Let's also look at the meaning of the word Culture: grow, promote, polish, refine, civilization, life, lifestyle, society, customs, manners, values, traditions, subculture/sub society-a group that has beliefs and behaviors that are 'different' from the main groups within a culture or society, heritage, legacy, tradition, folklore ...

This is a beautiful word that describes all types of peoples that were meant to be different. God made us diverse and unique in every way. Let's show grace and respect for one another's way of thinking and believing without hostility, or misplaced offense.

Lets agree to disagree with peace and 'maturity' at the helm of our lives. We must live with one another in this world, let's be cordial, and wisely sociable. Grow Up!

Seems to me that these two words, cancel and culture, just don't go together - they don't jive. Groups of people trying to cancel each other out because of differences, is asinine. These folks are clearly showing a lack of good sense and judgment, and will eventually backfire on them.

Personally, I seek God and not man. Man is clearly flawed and susceptible to being deceived by evil, and bullied to silence and submission. Stand strong in your convictions, and values. Don't be easily swayed or bullied into believing what society is spewing out.

Tune into God, not the lying news, social media outlets [who have lost my complete trust and respect], or misled people in your circle.

No one has a right to cancel me out because I am a Woman, Christian, and Conservative, and no one has a right to cancel you out for your beliefs and values either. No one has the right to silence, or try to bring anyone to nothingness - no one! These folks are playing a dangerous game, and karma will eventually find them.

I penned the following on a piece of paper as I meditated, and prayed for this broken, lost world we live in; especially my beautiful America under the current oppressive leadership. I would like you to personalize it for yourself, as it is a powerful reminder of who you truly are in Christ Jesus as a believer.

"I am not just a Woman. I am from the lineage of Abraham, which means, I am a part of the covenant that God made with Abraham. I have rights and privileges because I am in the family line of Abraham. I am a child of the Most High God. I belong to God, therefore I am highly blessed and favored. There are no limitations! I am FREE and loosed from all that tries to hold me back. I am FREE and empowered. I am released into all of God's blessings. I am released into new levels in every area of my life. I, as a believer and child of the most High God, cannot be cancelled out by anyone in society, or any government!" - Mary Jean Marquez (2/24/2021, 7:37 a.m.)

People may try to tear us down and cancel us out due to our beliefs and values, but it is impossible to do so because of who we belong to! God is always with us. He upholds our lives with His righteous right hand, and strengthens us with His faith and courage. Do not fear or lose hope! Stand strong in your faith, and do not allow yourself to be cancelled out by anyone. We are all precious to our Father God, and live under His protection and blessing as a people and nation. (Psalm 91, Psalm 23).

No worries, because God says, "They will fight against you, but they will not overcome you, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord" (Jeremiah 1:19)

Here are some reminders of how precious you are to God, and no matter what goes on in this crazy world, God will always cover your life with His favor, and give His angels charge over you to protect you in ALL of your ways. You (we) cannot be cancelled out!

~You are a creation of God and He formed your inward parts; He covered you in your mother’s womb. Praise Him, for you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are His works, and that your soul knows very well. (Psalm 139: 13-14)

~You are so valued by God, that even the hairs on your head are numbered! (Luke 12:7)

~God has such an incredible love for you that He keeps track of your tears. When you call out to Him, He hears and answers your prayers, and collects your every tear in a bottle [tears of sorrow, tears of joy, tears of pain, tears of intercession]. (Psalm 56:8)

You are so loved by God!

Let us keep in the forefront of our minds, that we may all have different beliefs, religions, languages, colored skin, cultures, histories, political views, but we all belong to ONE human race.

My prayer is that God would lighten hardened hearts, and help people show respect toward those who are different from themselves. We grow and learn from our unique differences, and when we humble ourselves, and show kindness toward people's unique differences, we give harmony, common respect and love a chance to change today's cancel culture to an "accepting culture" - a culture willing to regard something or someone with acceptance rather than with hostility or fear!

Seek God first, and allow Him to guide you in navigating life's journey in these chaotic days. God bless us all!

Respectfully! Mary Jean Marquez

There is Power in Prayer!

Stand Strong in Your God Given FREEDOM and POWER!

By: Mary Jean Marquez

Be clear on what you believe in, and don't be wishy-washy about it. Stand Strong with no fear, knowing that you have the greatest power at hand called PRAYER! Coming out of a crazy pandemic year 2020, and into a seemingly crazier year in 2021 with our freedoms at stake, I want to encourage you to fiercely take hold of faith like never before. Know that God is on your side, and empowers you with His very power to intercede for your world, and for others.

If you are like me, I felt so hopeless and defeated not knowing what to do, but as I sought God, He reminded me that the one thing I can do is PRAY! Interceding in prayer is powerful, and moves mountains (Matthew 17:20). Set yourself to pray everyday for our great country of America (wherever your country is) and it's leadership, yourself, your family, your city/community. When you pray, you set a great movement in the spiritual realm, that affects and changes the natural realm. You are more powerful than you realize!

Romans 8:11 says that the power that raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. Ephesians 3:20-21 says, now glory be to God, by His mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask, or even dream of - infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts or hopes.

Believe and receive what God says about you -- I have! We do not have to be at the mercy of the world's evil, when we have the very power of God living on the inside of us as believers.

The world, big tech, the government, bosses, co-workers ... may be against us, but God is for us. He has made the way straight, blessed, protected and highly favored. The only thing that is constant and never changing is God, so courageously take hold of God's Word, and keep going strong in fervent prayer. Know, without a shadow of doubt, that God is moving mightily behind the scenes -- dispatching His fierce mighty angels to fight on our behalf.

I have to admit, that this blog post has taken me quite a while to write. Every time I sat down to write, I found myself bound by the strange foreign thought, that we Americans are actually being censored, and tyrannically forced to silence by big tech, and those pulling their strings behind the scenes. Our freedom of speech is 'trying' to be taken away from us, and make no mistake, our other freedoms will be attacked as well.

For the first time in my life, I confusingly felt as if we are in the beginnings of living in a socialist/communist country, not able to share what is in my heart, and mind out of fear, despair, hopelessness and sadness within my soul. When I have tried to share, I am censored and deleted as if I don't matter. I felt emotionally drained and paralyzed! I had to stir myself up, and turn to God!

I can just imagine how horrific it is for those living in such countries. I pray deliverance from tyrannical leadership for those people. God move in those countries - help and protect your people!

I am especially concerned for future generations. I have never felt so stomped on and hated by my own fellow Americans, government and big tech, because of what I stand for and believe in; a very one sided movement/agenda/narrative. So wrong!

Wow! We do live in a free nation!

We must not allow tyrannical socialistic, communistic ways to take hold in our free America!

 NEVER! NEVER! NEVER!

After much prayer and deep thought, I made the decision that I am not going to allow myself to be shut down by the world's system, and I hope you do as well. I am a child of the most high God! I am a FREE American Woman, Christian, Conservative Patriot, Mom, Grandmother, Wife, Minister ... who believes in our great country's Constitution -- Bill of Rights. This great nation of America is under God, and our freedom has been given to us by God, and we mustn't take America or our freedom for granted.

We must not cower to the enemy's tactics of trying to silence God, Americans, truth, and what is right and good. Stand and fight, not just for yourself, but for future generations. Your freedom and rights in the constitution are at stake. No matter where you stand politically or religiously, we must globally unite in prayer as a people, and stand together for our nation, our children and grandchildren's freedom, and for what is right.

Know your God given freedoms in the Bill of Rights - The Constitution of the United States of America. Read them regularly and commit them to memory. Allow these powerful words of freedom penetrate your inner core of character and integrity, and teach them to your children, and grandchildren.

America is a beacon of light and safe haven for the world. Let's keep it that way for God's people to live safe and happy lives. Free from tyranny and evil.

With all that said, I encourage you to operate in faith. Do not allow fear to get a hold of your life. This great Nation of America is under God, and that will never change. Let's pray together, and stand in faith!

PRAY WITH ME:

Father God, we thank you for our freedoms. We thank you for your strong presence in our lives and in our beautiful nation of America, and around the World. We ask you to continue shedding your bright light in dark places, exposing every evil plan against us, and annihilating those plans, and evil enemies. We cover all peoples, every true American Patriot, and our great nation of America with the precious blood of Jesus. No weapon formed against us shall prosper, and every tongue that rises up against us in judgment, shall be condemned and proven to be in the wrong. Thank you for giving your angels charge over us to protect us in all of our ways, and our great nation of America. We humble ourselves and pray Lord -- Heal our Lands Lord! In Jesus' Mighty Name!

God bless you all abundantly always, and remember that God is on our side!

Respectfully,

Mary Jean Marquez

Out With The Old -- IN WITH THE NEW!

It's Time to De-clutter and Leave the Past in the Past and Move Forward into your Future

By: Mary Jean Marquez

Hanging on to the old past is a form of self-sabotage. I know, because I've done it. All this does is keep you stuck in a confusing hold pattern; a rut, not allowing you to move forward in life. It's like quick sand pulling you down - paralyzing your mind and life.

The past can be a hurtful unstable place -- It's time to let go of it all, and find a new happy stable footing for your future. It is possible if you believe it is - I am living proof! The thing is, no one can do it for you. You have to take 'personal responsibility' and do it for yourself.

It's time to FREE YOURSELF and de-clutter your life -- saying bye to the old you, and saying yes to a new you. Make a quality decision, that you are not going to live a stuck life, and that you are going to do the necessary work to get the results you desire in every area of your life.

There are many spaces in life that we must tend to on a regular basis in order to live a clutter free life. Cleaning house, if you will, must be a life long habit, otherwise you will find that clutter will quickly pile up - drowning out all the good that is trying to find you. Believe me when I share, that when you begin to make the necessary changes, your life will be filled with peace and joy. Heaviness, confusion and chaos is replaced with clarity, peace and lightness of heart. You begin to attract goodness to yourself. Blessing is able to make it's way to you.

Here is a short list of spaces to get started on your de-cluttering journey:

Mind - Your thoughts will ultimately dictate the direction your life goes, so take a good look at what you are feeding your mind, and how it's negatively altering your thinking. You may have to stop watching certain types of movies, turn the news off, fast social media, stop listening to negative people...replace it all with good information! God clearly lets us know what to think on in Philippians 4:8 "Whatever is TRUE, whatever is NOBLE, whatever is RIGHT, whatever is PURE, whatever is LOVELY, whatever is ADMIRABLE - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things."

Body - Your health is your greatest wealth! Your body is not a trash can, so don't feed it trash foods. Fill this space with wholesome healthy real foods, that will give you the energy to live a long happy life, and be able to fulfill your God given destiny, and calling.

Your body was built and designed by God to move and work, so get yourself out of a sedentary lifestyle, and get your body moving with exercise and activities. Your body is the vessel that carries your spirit, and keeps you living on this Earth, so be kind to it, it's the only one you have! Respect this precious space!  (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

Spirit - Feed this beautiful space with spiritual food -- God's Word. Just like our bodies require healthy foods in order to be strong, and healthy physically, our spirit man requires God's spiritual food in order to live a courageous empowered life in this evil World. When your Spirit is strong, you will be able to stand and conquer evil when hard times arise. Put on the whole armor of God. (Ephesians 6: 10-20)

Relationships - It's time to let go of toxic people that are not good for your well being. Some people will never change, and will continue to tear you down, cheat on you, hurt you, lie to you, steal from you, gossip about you. It's time to say bye to those folks, and move on.

There are also relationships that you feel are fun, but are quite destructive, leading you down wrong paths. Never underestimate the influence of the people you've allowed in your life. You know who they are! Stop following and listening to these folks, and take the lead in who you allow into your social circle. Ask God to bless you with good wholesome relationships that will be a blessing. (1 Corinthians 15: 33)

There are other spaces I won't go into detail on, as I'm sure you know what to do - like just clean up for heavens sake, such as your living spaces at home, vehicles, work...this type of clutter creates great unrest and chaos, that filters into other areas of life.

Think about your personal life, and be brutally honest with yourself. Only you know the spaces that need de-cluttering, and cleaning up in your life. Some spaces are spiritual, while others are physical. Stop making excuses, and let go of  past clutter, and make room for God's blessing of peace and so much more.

There is no shame in asking for help. Reach out to someone you can truly trust for guidance. (Proverbs 11:14)

In conclusion, when you try to fit the old you into the new you, or the old year into a new year, it will not work because, like a puzzle piece, the new you and new year will outgrow the old.

God gives us a perfect example in His Word, in Mark 2: 21-22 AMP  "No one sews a patch of un-shrunk (new) cloth on an old garment; otherwise the patch pulls away from it, the new from the old, and the tear becomes worse. No one puts new wine into old wine skins; otherwise the [fermenting] wine will [expand and] burst the skins, and the wine is lost as well as the wine skins. But new wine must be put into new wine skins."

Keep going strong knowing that God's got your back!

Out with the old, and in with the new!

It's time to de-clutter and leave the the past in the past, and move forward into your future!

With Love,

Mary Jean Marquez

Happy New Year 2021!

New Year, New Beginning, New Focus, Right Perspective

                                                             By: Mary Jean Marquez

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I last blogged, and I have been itching to get this one out after the year we've had in 2020. Let's do an overview: World wide Pandemic - with great loss of life, economic upheaval - with jobs and businesses lost, societal unrest - with great unnecessary violence, contentious election, media and political lawlessness - with our God given freedoms at stake, and so much more. Seems we had it all! I am relieved that we are at the end of this year with more clarity, wisdom and understanding; not only of what's occurring in this world, but at a personal level.

I extend my deepest condolences to all who suffered the loss of loved ones and or friends this year due to Covid. I pray peace and comfort within every heart. And, to those suffering the loss of jobs, and businesses causing financial distress, I pray for a God kind of breakthrough, and financial increase in the mighty name of Jesus. God bless us all. 🙏

At the beginning of the year, as I excitedly planned and worked out my annual goals, dreams, vacations ... writing in my planner, and posting on my vision board, as I do every year, I could never have imagined what was to come. The plans and timeline of what I planned, didn't resemble what played out. In actuality, all of it was annihilated by the evil invader Covid-19, and my life, and our world was changed forever. It will take some time to recover, but we will, because we are a resilient people with God on our side.

We, as a nation and world, were side swiped, rolling us into an oblivion of confusion and chaos, with every single human being having no control, except to pray and fight fear off. We all together experienced the harshness of the situation, causing compassion and empathy to rise out of our hearts for one another. I believe many rose to the occasion with God's love.

There is a saying by Dr. Wayne Dyer, “When you squeeze an orange, you’ll always get orange juice to come out. What comes out is what’s inside.” The same logic applies to us humans, so it is vitally important to fill our hearts and minds with good things, with God's Word.

At a personal level, this year has been a challenge for myself and family, but amazingly awesome at the same time. Life this year, has squeezed us in so many ways, forcing us to change the way we live, the way we worship, the way we shop, the way we work, the way business is done, the way we socialize, the way we celebrate special occasions, but what has come out is love, faith, hope, patience, wisdom, joy, caring, grace, compassion, support, and creativity. We made the decision to pray together as a family, and believe that God’s got our backs. We have gotten closer than ever as a family - by choice. Yes, we’ve had our tense moments, but we talk and communicate, with a LISTENING ear and heart.

I would like to share five lessons, of many, I've learned in my walk with God. #1) God never fails us, #2) To never give up, #3) Don't worry - there is light at the end of the tunnel, #4) Change is inevitable #5) Plan and work your plan!

I encourage you to never give up, no matter the hardness of a situation, because it will always pass. God will never fail you when you set yourself in His hands. Have a listening ear to His leading and guidance. Be still, and know that He is your Abba [Father] God, who loves you so much, and is ready to help in time of need.

As we go into the new year 2021, be enthusiastic and expectant of God's goodness in your life. With every new year comes an opportunity of a new beginning. A time to re-focus, and re-evaluate what truly is important to you, and what you need to change in your life. I feel 2020 has taught us so many valuable lessons about what truly matters most, and I personally am already implementing positive changes.

Ask yourself some important questions such as: What distractions do I have to get rid of, and change in my life? (bad habits, wrong relationships, wrong thinking...) What specific steps can I make to improve my life? (stop wasting time, follow through with plans, no more procrastination or excuses...) I want you to add questions to this list, and do an honest self evaluation of where you are, and where you would like to be at the end of 2021.

It is important to set doable and workable goals for yourself, and as you achieve small goals your confidence level rises, catapulting you to achieve the next goal. Before you know it, you are at a higher level, and closer to your dreams by the end of the year. As the saying goes, "I'm not where I want to be, but I am not where I used to be."

I have a strong knowing within my soul that 2021 is going to be so much better for us all in many ways. Let's not take God for granted, Let's not take our freedoms for granted! Let's not take family for granted! Let's not take time for granted! God has given us precious life to live to the fullest. Life is grand, overflowing with possibilities!

God bless you all, and keep going strong, knowing that God's got your back! 💖

                                                    GOODBYE 2020! WELCOME 2021
                                                           HAPPY NEW YEAR 2021!

Plan Your WORK Your Plan by: Mary Jean Marquez

"Have a Working Plan"
 by: Mary Jean Marquez

As I drove my daughter to school early this morning in heavy traffic, the following thought came to mind, "thank God we have laws and a working plan/system in place to keep traffic orderly, and people safe."  Then a second thought came to mind, "It only works when people follow the laws and work the planned system."

There are signs, traffic lights, assigned lanes, speed limits, city laws...that are in place for our safety, but it all begins with learning and studying what it all means, and then implementing what you've learned when you actually get out on the road.  If you don't take the time to learn the system that is in place, or decide that you are going to do your own thing, you won't be a successful driver, and will more than likely cause an accident that will bring harm to yourself and others, and or end up in jail.  You derail and hinder yourself, and possibly others, from getting to where you wanted to be.

It is the same way in every area of life.  God has given us a blue print, a working plan, in His Word to live by, and when we do, our lives can be healthy and full of goodness.  It doesn't mean a perfect life, but an awesome one.

You need to "have a working plan" for every area of your life with God's Word as your guide.  Stay on the straight and narrow path, and when you get off of that path, and we all do at times, get back on and work your plan.  God's Grace and Mercy are new every morning on your behalf.  Ask God to help and guide you in life.  His plan is always better than your own, and together you can accomplish great things.

It takes getting out of your comfort zone to work your plan.  You can have an amazing dream, but without a working plan, and actually working it, you will go nowhere in life.  Get up and get going.  Put quality effort and time in working your plan at a better career, marriage, physical health...and make sure to continually evaluate and re-evaluate your plan for adjustments...as God leads you, because as you grow and change in your success, your working plan must grow and change in order to reach the next level of success.   Remain progressive in every area of your life!

Make the quality decision to commit to a better higher way of life, and no more making excuses or procrastinating!

God bless you always!

God's Loving Mercy and Grace By: Mary Jean Marquez

God's Loving Mercy and Grace
By:  Mary Jean Marquez

My first church service of 2016, at my amazing church of 20 years, was revolutionary for me.  God never ceases to amaze me with His divine seasonal intervention in my life.  I experienced two powerful "aha moments" that magnified  God's intervening Mercy and Grace that have always followed me, and how vitally important His Church has been in my life.  The first one came to me as my Pastor taught on Jacob's dream of the ladder in the book of Genesis, and the second one came when he shared one of his Pastor friend's testimony of God's intervention in her life as a child.

My Pastor's teaching that morning was similar to past teachings I've heard, but this morning was extra special because it was the first church service of the new year with my family, and I had been preparing with an expectant heart in prayer/praise/worship to be renewed and re-energized in my spirit and life.  I was also happily excited to plant our first tithe seed of  this new year, and I know the combination of it all made a huge difference in my heart clearly receiving that morning, taking me to another spiritual level of understanding, as I believed for.  I know that God is preparing my heart and His Church for greater works on this Earth.

My first "aha moment" came as Pastor taught out of the book of Genesis chapter 28, where Jacob had the dream of a ladder that was set on Earth with it's top reaching heaven, and God's Angels were ascending and descending on it.  When Jacob awoke he had the revelation of the place he was at, calling it God's house-the Church, being a gateway to heaven.  It was at this moment that I spiritually saw and understood, more than ever, the powerful magnitude of the Church-God's House being the gateway to heaven, that I had not clearly perceived prior.  Since becoming a Christian over 25 years ago, I've known the importance of Church in order for people to grow, renew their minds to live better lives, fellowship, eternal salvation...but never had I seen the church as the gateway to heaven so undeniably clear.  It is crystal clear of the importance for The Church of Jesus Christ to thrive and grow on the Earth, as it is the gateway for God's people to heaven, and to teach people to live healthy abundant lives while on the Earth.

My second "aha moment" came when Pastor shared Pastor Bobby Houston's testimony of being raised in a Godless home; a home that did not believe in God.  She had a little girlfriend that invited her to church one morning, and that was the beginning of great change, and a life knowing God's  love leading many others to that powerful revelation.  As Pastor shared this, I felt tingles going up and down my body that I had not felt in a long time at church, as I my spirit related so deeply with her testimony.  My mind was triggered taking me back to a childhood memory that I had not thought of in a very long time.  It was so surreal!

The neighborhood I lived in as a child was very poor...and there was a piece of property near where I lived that was used as a dumping ground and dangerously dirty.  Some of the other children and I would play there, because there was nowhere else for us to go and no parental or adult supervision.  In this particular memory I picked up a dirty used needle/syringe I found thrown, and as I stared at it in wonder, a person approached me and asked if my friends and I wanted to go to church; I can't remember if it was a male/female or the age, but I thank God it was not a crazy person as there were lots of those in that neighborhood.  There was a little church nearby up on a hill, and we were always being invited to go by different people and we never did, but on this particular morning I did go.  I remember sitting in a little room with other kids being taught some stories out of a book (The Bible), but I had no idea what in the world this person was saying, however I remember being interested and intently listening.  The one thing I liked about that place was that I was at peace, something I was not used to or understood.  I did return several times because it was somewhere to go instead of the dirty field, it was away from my chaotic home, and they would feed us a little food.  That's the last I remember of that little church and those people, because we were always moving. Perhaps they were my angels.  I do know it was all God sent for me, and was the beginning of my spiritual journey.

This teaching and memory helped me realize that God's Mercy and Grace have always followed me throughout my life.  That is just one memory of many, where God has intervened in my life, and I thank Him for always being present in every season.  I am eternally thankful to God for His Church and the people He has sent to help me in my life's journey.  I in turn desire to help others in their life's journey as God leads.

Know that God's loving Mercy and Grace follows you all the days of your life, and will never stop because He loves you!  Find a good Bible teaching Church to set yourself in and grow in His Love!

God's Blessings in Plain View - Don't miss them!

God's Blessings in Plain View
Don't miss them!

by:  Mary Jean Marquez

I went on my usual four mile power walk this morning, full of high energy and ready to get a good workout while thoroughly enjoying the outdoors, and my Country Music on Pandora.  My neighborhood is amazingly beautiful in farm areas, full of life and color in every way.  The aromas of honey suckle, jasmine and so many other plants/flowers fill the air with sweetness.  I call it my "personal aroma therapy globe".  The sounds of the various birds in the area sing so skillfully, the ducks calmly swimming in the canals, I get to enjoy watching the majestic horses peacefully enjoy their day, and the chickens go about their busy calm ways...So, suffice to say, my walks are truly heavenly!

At one point in my walk there was a gorgeous Monarch Butterfly boldly resting on a wrought iron fence, waving it's beautiful bright colored wings, and peacefully enjoying the warm morning sun without a care.  I almost just passed by without stopping to enjoy that beautiful moment of blessing that God placed in my path, because my mind was thinking on some things happening in this season of my life.   Right as I passed it, I stopped, backed up to stare/marvel at it's beauty, and as I did a peace came over me. I felt as if God placed that blessing in front of me so that I could STOP and FOCUS on His beauty, and presence in my life.  He began to remind me of His goodness and care for me in His Word.  Just as He cares and provides for this beautiful Monarch Butterfly, He cares and provides for me.

As I took that moment to really focus on God and His goodness in my life, all the heavy thinking I was doing disappeared, and replaced with His joy, peace, and a knowing that everything is going to be okay.  God's got my back, and He has yours!

It is easy for us to get so busy and thinking the wrong way, that we miss God's Blessings.  I honestly feel that God places blessings in plain view for us on a daily basis, but we miss them because we are so preoccupied with things that we should be casting upon Him in the first place.

Train yourself to daily, on purpose, look out for God's blessings in your life.  Sometimes He will bless you by placing a beautiful Monarch Butterfly in your path so you can STOP, and FOCUS on God's Word of blessing and hope, letting you know that all is okay, and He has got your back, just like He did for me.

Don't miss your blessings! They are in Plain View everyday!  Be blessing minded!

God bless you always and keep going strong!

Be Progressive Minded By: Mary Jean Marquez

Be Progressive Minded
By:  Mary Jean Marquez

God is a progressive God and since we are made in His image (Genesis 1:27), we have that creative progressive gusto and energy in us.  Don't allow yourself to stay stagnant in life, no matter what your age or circumstance.  Always keep yourself active in your passions, planning for your next step in achieving your dreams.  Don't put yourself, or allow others, to put you in a contained box that limits your life.

When you reach those milestones of success, enjoy and celebrate but don't stay there too long.  Make sure you have a plan to start working toward the next success.  So many people are stuck in their past successes talking and living it in their minds as if it happened yesterday.  These people are not progressive minded.  Every success should be a stepping stone to the next one.

If and when you fail, learn from it, get back up and go at it again with a good attitude, with a progressive mind set, and you will be amazed blessed at how God will meet you there.  I always share with people that life to me is like a chess game.  When I make my move, God will in turn make His move!

Part of living a successful progressive life is embracing the fact that change is inevitable.  Without change it is impossible to move forward.  One great example of that is technology.  Technology is changing on a daily basis, and if we are not flexible to the changes and to learning new information, we will be left behind in a rut of confusion, and in a lost backward state.  We will become detached and unaware of the amazing possibilities that would catapult our lives to the next level.

Another example, at a more personal level, is marriage/relationships.  It is so easy to stay stuck in old attitudes and ways of doing things, and if allowed to happen, people will naturally grow apart; finding that they no longer have much in common or enjoy each others company.  Most people are instinctively drawn to being progressive in life, and when one of the partners in a marriage or friendship fights change, choosing to stay stagnant in their old ways, while the other is being progressive in their lives, what will happen is one outgrows the other, causing dissatisfaction along with other ill feelings.  Don't let this happen.

Embrace good change and grow with each other!
Be genuinely happy and encouraging of each others progressive growth!
Be flexible and open minded!
Allow each other space when needed!
Enjoy sharing your journeys together while having some FUN along the way!

When you remain progressive minded and doing what is necessary, you will be well able to answer the knock of opportunity when it comes knocking at your door.  Know that your unique life's journey has been preparation for the next progressive step toward your future and you can do ALL things through Christ who is your strength (Philippians 4:13).

Here is a list to keep in mind on your quest to being progressive minded.  Feel free to add your own.

*  Be progressive in your spiritual growth
*  Be progressive in your mental/personal growth
*  Be progressive in your health/physical
*  Be progressive in your marriage/friendships
*  Be progressive in your home
*  Be progressive in your business
*  Be progressive at your job
*  Be progressive in your finances
*  Be progressive in raising your children
*  Be progressive in your ministry
*  Be progressive in your passion(s) Dream(s)
*  Be progressive in having fun and enjoying life

Don't take people or time for granted!

Enjoy life today-Now!

Embrace good change!

Be Progressive Minded in every area of life!

Move Your Life Forward by Taking Personal Responsiblity by: Mary Jean Marquez

Move Your Life Forward
by Taking Personal Responsibility
by:  Mary Jean Marquez

I share some of my life on this Blog post that is riddled with  "Tough Love" because I care! My desire for everyone reading this is that you would read through humble eyes, hearts, and make the changes necessary to move your life forward.  Sometimes it's hard to admit to wrong behavior and mind sets, but when you recognize, admit and take responsibility for them, you give yourself a chance at a better life.  Denial and stubbornness gets you nowhere!

I realize that sometimes people don't know how to get out of bad habits and wrong thinking after years of living with negative attitudes and thinking, so I would like to share how God helped me.  It's like starting a new job.  I always say people don't know what they don't know, and require proper training or re-training.  Open yourself up to renewing your mind, replacing the old habits and thinking that are getting you nowhere, to a better way that will help move your life forward.
The following scripture has helped me so much, and I know will help you  "Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."  (Romans 12:2 NIV)

There are too many people out there who are playing the blame game, making excuses and not taking personal responsibility for themselves; resulting in stagnant lives that that are filled with self pity.  This behavior cheats people out of, what could be, amazing lives.  No matter what has happened in your life, know that you can live a happy and successful life.  I don't make light of the fact that people have been through some hard experiences in life, but I also know that God can help people heal and move forward if they desire to, like He did for me.  It's your choice!

I personally got tired of being miserable and playing the blame game.  It got me nowhere except depressed, and hopeless by choice.  When I understood that I had to take responsibility for myself and make major changes in my thinking and behavior/habits, my life began an amazingly beautiful transformation.  I began to seek God like never before and he showed me how to get out of that crazy cycle.  It wasn't overnight, but I remained dedicated and focused on my goals to change myself.

It took humbling myself and telling God that I didn't know where to begin or what to do, and the following scripture was given to me "If you want to know what God wants you to do, ask him, and he will gladly tell you, for he is always ready to give a bountiful supply of wisdom to all who ask him; he will not resent it. (James 1:5 TLB).  The same goes for you.  Ask God for wisdom and He will begin to show and lead you.

The first thing God helped me with was learning to forgive.  I was harboring un-forgiveness deep within my heart which had me bound in so many ways; it made me ill.  I did not realize that it had rooted itself within me in the form of hatred and bitterness, causing the manifestation of anger and rage.  God knew that it was imperative for me to deal with the un-forgiveness first so that I could heal and move forward in my life.  When I did forgive those who abused, harmed and abandoned me as a child, I was set free in every area of my life, and I was also able to forgive myself for wrong doing as well and move forward.  My life has been brighter and happier ever since.

I can safely say that everyone has been wronged/harmed, offended and sinned against in some way and point in life, so I encourage you to please set yourself free and forgive.  Allow yourself to heal and be well! When you extend forgiveness, God will forgive you of your trespasses "For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (Matthew 6: 14-15)

Every human being is responsible for His/Her life.  God blesses you with life, and it is up to you to live it the best you know how.  Sometimes life hands you lemons, but you can decide to make sweet lemonade.  Get real with yourself and let go of those things that hold you back.  The following scripture guides you perfectly "Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life." (Galatians 6:5 MSG)

To sum it all up, there comes a time in life when you have to stop making excuses, stop playing the blame game, take responsibility for yourself, no matter what has happened in your life, move forward leaving the past where it belongs, in the past!  Make the decision to get rid of old childish thinking and behaving.  God boldly and clearly instructs you in the following scripture to put away childish living "It’s like this: when I was a child I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child does. But when I became a man my thoughts grew far beyond those of my childhood, and now I have put away the childish things." (1 Corinthians 13:11 TLB)
and

I want you to know and realize how amazingly awesome you are. God made you to be more than a conqueror, so rise up, take responsibility for your life, and make things happen.  Make the positive and lasting changes necessary to move forward.  Allow yourself to let go of the past and heal from the inside out.  God bless you always!

"Is anything too hard for me?"

"Is anything too hard for me?"
by:  Mary Jean Marquez

As I prayed this morning for a woman who is a military wife and mother, currently living over seas  struggling with serious health issues, the following question resonated  strongly and sternly within my spirit.  "Is anything too hard for me?"  I immediately stopped and opened my eyes and listened.  I know my God's voice and that was His voice.  It doesn't always happen this way for me in my prayer time, but I get so happy and excited when He speaks to me this way! So, my answer was, "No Father God, nothing is too hard for you!" and by the Stripes of Jesus this woman is healed and made whole in Jesus Name!

I had to immediately write all of this down as I know this is a word in season for many as well as for myself.  He reminded me of who He is in the lives of His children-our lives.  Thank you my Heavenly Father God!

What is it that you are facing today that seems overwhelming and out of reach?

Well, I have to tell you that nothing is too hard for God (Jeremiah 32:27).  He has already paid the price for your full redemption through the precious shed blood of Jesus on the cross.  God is telling you that He loves you so much that He gave His only begotten son so that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life (John 3:16), and He desires that you prosper, be in health, even as your soul [mind, will, emotions] prospers (3 John 1:2).  That means that He wants you to prosper in every area of life, and has made the provision for it all!  He is your everything!

Healing is yours (Isaiah 53: 5)
Prosperity is yours (Philippians 4:19)
Peace is yours (John 14:27)
Joy is yours (Nehemiah 8:10)
Deliverance is yours (2 Timothy 4:18)
Power is yours (Luke 10:19)
Love and acceptance is yours (John 3:16)
Faith is yours (Romans 12:3)
Favor is yours (Proverbs 3:4)
and so much more...Search in God's Word!

He has already given you all you need to live happy and healthy in every area of life.  You live under a new covenant of blessing and redemption because of  Jesus sacrifice on the cross.  He died and was risen again just for you.  Believe and receive that redemption and provision.  All of God's promises are yes and amen through Christ Jesus to those who will believe! No promise is too hard for God (2 Corinthians 1:20).

God says that He is the great "I Am" in your life (Exodus 3).  To help encourage you further, Here are the names of who He is in your life.  Study them and pray them over your life and family.

If you are struggling with health issues, pray "Thank you my Heavenly Father God that you are Jehovah Rapha my healer, therefore I am the healed and made whole of the Lord! In Jesus Name!

If you are struggling financially, pray "Thank you my Heavenly Father God that you are Jehovah Jireh my provider, therefore my every need is met abundantly."  In Jesus Name!

Our Children's Talents and Giftings

Parenting & Children's Unique Gifting(s) and Talent(s)
By Mary Jean Marquez

Every child has his/her unique God given calling, gifting(s) and talent(s).  It is our job as parents to help our children discover and grow in their gifts/talents, and to use them to live happy/productive lives, and for good on this Earth.  Let's not fall into the trap of boxing our children in our own selfish idea of what we want our children to be gifted and talented in.

I sadly see too many parents trying to control every aspect of their children's lives and the result is, as children grow older they are dissatisfied with their own lives because they are not allowed to discover and live within their unique calling, and parents who are disappointed in their children, feeling like failures as parents.  The truth is, every child is unique and are born with their own unique calling on this Earth, and parents do not have the right to push or manipulate their children into their boxed agenda, or to compare them to siblings or anyone else.

Let's teach our children to love who they are by example.  When we as parents love and accept our children for who God made them to be, in their unique calling, they will in turn have a healthy outlook on life and love who they are; imperfections and all.  Please don't expect perfection from your children!  You are not perfect, so why in the world would you expect your children to be perfect?  Extend forgiveness, Grace and Mercy toward your children, and they will in turn show the same to you and others.

When our children are young, we are to instill goodness in their lives, teaching them to grow into productive and happy adults.  We are to be on the look out for what stirs their passion, and it takes being present with time and money in getting them involved in different activities in order to discover their gifts/talents.  Some children take longer, while others begin to show signs of their calling early on.   Most people don't discover their calling until adulthood, and that is okay parents!

This photo reminds me of  my daughters uniqueness!
I am blessed with four daughters who are very unique, and who also share a lot in common.  I am so happy that my husband and I learned early on to never compare them to each other or anyone else, and to raise them as individuals in their uniqueness.  They are multifaceted, and we allowed them to explore their interests.  This helped them to understand their unique callings and pursue their passions in life.

They are thriving in their unique God given gifts/talents; making a difference and enjoying their lives.  My two oldest daughters have partnered in business and successfully run their own restaurant called Papa Pita.  My third daughter is successfully pursuing her passion of acting/modeling in Hollywood.  My youngest is learning, by example, from her three older sisters to go for her dreams, and is discovering some amazing talent in the music arena.  I appreciate each one of them, and thank God for helping me and my husband raise our children to be who He made them to be.

I encourage every parent to seek God for wisdom and knowledge on how to raise and lead each of your children in their uniqueness, and to never push or manipulate them to be something or someone they are not.  Love each child in their unique calling, for who they are, while leading and guiding with love and understanding.  Help them to grow into productive, self-sufficient happy adults who will do the same for their children in the future.

Know that as parents, we are not perfect and will make mistakes.  It is important to humble ourselves and let our children know that we are not perfect, and to ask for forgiveness when we miss the mark and are in the wrong.  We can learn from them as well.  Your children will learn to do the same, and your respect for each other will grow and remain strong for life.

I pray for God's leading in every parents life, as there is no cookie cutter way to be a parent.  What works for one parent does not work for the other, but you can seek God, and He will lead and guide you in the best way to raise your children.  God bless you always!  (Matthew 6:33)
